As members of the patient care team, anesthesia technicians assist anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of anesthesia equipment and supplies for routine and complex surgical cases, as well as for emergent situations that may arise. Before, during, and after anesthesia, they prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems, helping to assure safe, efficient, and cost-effective anesthesia care for every patient.
