Congratulations to Peter Gallagher, Sue Muscatella and Hellen Velazquez for each being recipients of the 2019 Employee of the Year award!

Chairman of the Department, Dr. Ansgar Brambrink (second from left) who launched the Employee of the Year award, said he intends to promote similar initiatives in his effort to continue to motivate, encourage and reward his team.

Awards were presented to these outstanding employees who were nominated by their peers. The occasion was celebrated at the department’s Employee Appreciation Luncheon- the first of its kind for the department.

Peter has been working with the department for three years having started his career on the campus at NYP. Peter’s current role as the department’s IT technician has earned him the reputation to be the ‘go-to’ guy from IT to fire safety!

Sue joined the department 14 years ago as administrative assistant to the departmental administrator. Today Sue says she remains fulfilled in all she does to support the department and medical center at large.

Helen joined the CUIMC family in 2006 and has served in varying capacities supporting the administrative arm of the department. Currently Helen serves as administrative manager to the residency and medical students.
